TRUNTUM MOTIF Batik Klasik

THE TRUNTUM MOTIF  was created by Kanjeng Ratu Kencana, the wife of Sunan Paku Buwana III, and refers to revitalized love. She created this motif as a symbol of unconditional, everlasting love that continues to gro (tumaruntum). Because of its meaning, the cloth with the truntum motif is usually worn by the parents of the bride and groom on the wedding day. It is hoped that the love symbolized in this motif will be passed on to the bridal couple. It is sometimes felt that the parents are required to “guide” the bridal couple as they enter a new life together. >>>Lihat terjemahan tentang TRUNTUM

TAMBAL of MOTIF BATIK

Tambal Pamulito
TAMBAL MEANS “To patch” or to restore whatever has been destroyed in the journey of life. Humans must improve themselves, both physically and spiritually. Formerly, it is said that the batik cloth that had the tambal motif could heal a sick person who was wrapped in it. This belief  arose because sick people were considered to be “lacking something”, so they needed to be “patched up” in order to be heald.
